Over the past 12 years, LRFA was able to provide more than $300,000 in grants and scholarships to help promote Baltic culture and education. We are honored to be able to help our members experience these great opportunities to learn more about Baltic history and traditions. Your donations to the LRFA Scholarship Fund help make this possible. Support future generations with your gift. Donations are tax-deductible. Thank you!
Examples of eligible programs

3. Other cultural experiences:
LRFA members may also apply for scholarship assistance to attend other cultural experiences, meetings, and events. Examples include annual ALA/ALJA Kongress participation, Latvian language education at colleges and universities, etc. LRFA has also helped folk dance groups from the US participate in festivals in Latvia and Canada.
Scholarship Applications
Each year, LRFA members may apply for financial assistance for Baltic education and cultural programs. If the applicant is under 18, both the child and parent need to be LRFA members for at least 1 full year (12 months) prior to application, in order to be considered for scholarships. Each LRFA member may only submit one application for scholarship per calendar year. The LRFA Scholarship Fund is made possible through donations and as such, funding availability varies from year to year. Although LRFA strives to support as many members as possible, awards are not guaranteed.
Applications must be received no later than May 1st to be considered.
Scholarship applications are closed for 2025. Please check back in January 2026.
